This wonderful chime is handmade on the exotic island of Bali using only eco-friendly resources. It is hand-tuned and creates the wonderful natural sounds of the wind moving the bamboo back and forth.

At Z Fabrique we buy many bamboo products because it is an incredible renewable resource. Bamboos are the largest members of the grass family. In bamboo, wheat and other grasses, the internodal regions of the plant stem are hollow allowing them to be used for storage containers for food, water, documents and weapons. (It is this hollow area that makes it ideal for use as a wind chime.)Today bamboo is used for flooring, clothes and even as a food source.  It is extremely versatile and because bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world its potential use is still being researched. Bamboo is capable of growing up 24 in or more per day due to a unique rhizome-dependent system. However, this astounding growth rate is highly dependent on local soil and climatic conditions.
