Oh you beautiful, bountiful Harvest Moon

This is my favorite time of the year. I can feel fall coming in with the chill in the evening air. It is all about celebrating the bountiful harvest. The leaves are beginning to turn mahogany and the golden rays of the sun that warm and light our way are equal to the silvery beams of the moon that cool us while we sleep.  Mabon is the celebration of the mid-season harvest or the Autumn Equinox. It usually is September 21 or right around there. The plants are beginning to wilt and die, returning to the soil they sprang from. With each day that passes the darkness inches its way to take more of the day. You can honor this change of season with candles, incense, gemstones and food.
