Catalina 4th of July week

Just spent a fascinating week camping at Two Harbors on Catalina Island. The group that has been camping there for the 4th goes back at least 30 years. We had some new people  join us from up North and around Southern California. This group has always been like a group of prairie dogs – people popping up from all over as the week progresses. Quite a few in the group were divorced single men, approaching 50, who the more they drank, talked about how lonely they were and that they were looking for “The One.”

“The One,” apparently is around 25, sporting star pasties (yes -really-there are photos,) likes being asked,”Show me your titties,” twerks so much the earths slips off its axis and speeds up, drinks so much they land on the floor while dancing and can’t get up, well you get the idea.

Really…Really?

One of the men brought his two sons and all I heard out of his kids the whole trip was, ” Do you know where my Dad is?”  I didn’t know who his father was at first, but by the second day I was thinking to myself, “Why yes, yes I do…He’s down in the bar trying to find you a new stepmother that looks like the Playboy Centerfold for August.”

I am amused and had a great time. It was better than any TV Show. You just can’t make this stuff up.
